Carrier Classic – 2011”On Veteran’s Day (11-11-11) two college basketball teams will play an official game on the flight deck of the USS Carl Vinson aircraft carrier in San Diego, the ship that buried Osama Bin Laden at sea. Michigan State will play the University of North Carolina during prime time on ESPN national. Mr. Worthy and the James Worthy Foundation are scheduled to participate in this important national event honoring our Veterans on their major national Holiday. .
Department of the Army – “Best Warrior Competition – 2011”
The US Army Combined Arms Support Command (CASCOM) at Fort Lee, VA is hosted the Department of the Army “Best Warrior Competition – 2011” during the week of October 2, 2011 – October 8, 2011. This is an annual competition between thirteen (13) Army units from around the world. , http://www.cascom.army.mil/
Mr. Worthy has been invited as the “Honorary Celebrity” and the James Worthy Foundation was selected as the Army veteran outreach out coordinator for the event and will be a key component in interweaving all of the week-long activities. Also, Discovery Channel will be filming this competition and turning it into a six-(6) day reality show.
